Hip Hop Dance Competition Teams
P2PDance Center launched its dynamic Hip Hop and Tap program in January 2008 under the energetic and innovative teaching of K.K. Mayo and Heather Cox-Griffin. This fall we are thrilled to welcome Buffie McLaskey, a well known Hip Hop dancer/Teacher/Choeographer from New York to our staff. Buffie looks forward to training P2PDancers in today's popular Hip Hop and Breakin' style. Along with Heather, she will be creating choreography for local, state and national team competitions as well as our Camden Opera House and Portland City Hall theatre performances. Hip Hop pieces will be set on dancers between the months of August and June. These Dances will be choreographed appropriately for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Performers and Dance Team members are expected to attend the weekly Sunday (or Tuesday) Hip Hop classes as Buffie or Heather will be rehearsing, coaching and adding new choreography weekly.
